Zygmunt Krol was as well a painter as a graphic. He graduated from Cracow's Academy of Fine Arts, where he learned in the workshop of Jozef Mehoffer. Between 1930 and 1936 he studied in France thanks to scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and Education. He also studied History of Art on the Jagiellonian University. Krol was a co-founder of the Association of Polish Graphic Artists and "Zwornik" group. After the second world war he was for a short time a professor on Cracow's Academy, where Andrzej Wroblewski has studied in his workshop.
